Nicole BUchmann MS, LPC


Nicole Buchmann is a Licensed Professional Counselor – holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work, a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, and offering extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adult individuals and families. Nicole specializes in assessing and treating depression, anxiety, family of origin complications, relationship concerns, attachment issues, and parenting concerns. She enjoys counseling individuals and families across the lifespan.

Nicole’s therapeutic approach includes evidence-based practices that are solution-focused and trauma-informed. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention based on the individual needs of each client. When working with children, Nicole implements non-directive, child-centered, attachment-based play therapy. Nicole brings years of experience with the adoption and the foster care system, and her role teaching foster/adoptive parents attachment-focused parenting techniques. Nicole’s extensive knowledge and training in working with children, teens and their parents make her an excellent resource for families struggling with parent-child conflict, behavioral concerns, mood disorders, oppositional defiance, anger management, and more.

Nicole seeks to build a trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship with clients, believing that this is key to goal setting and empowering clients to achieve positive changes. Furthermore, Nicole utilizes play therapy to increase emotional regulation and social skills in children while working collaboratively with parents to increase healthy relationships through improving communication, trust, and conflict resolution skills.
